Camden Arts Centre is a gallery, workshop space, garden and shop all rolled together. We visited on a sunny summer morning, but this venue is perfect for rainy afternoons too.
Camden Arts Centre is one of my go-to weekend destinations in North West London, as there’s plenty to see and do in one place. You can start off with coffee and a pastry from the cafe (and take it into the lush, semi-wild garden if the weather allows) then catch an exhibition or a creative workshop. Afterwards, you can easily make an hour evaporate while nosing around the beautifully curated book-and-stationery shop, where you’ll find all manner of kids’ picture books, international art magazines, art tomes and fiction, as well as a wonderful selection of cards and stationery. The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion is a predictably brilliant annual spectacle, but this year’s shimmering, iridescent, technicolour delight by Selgascano is particularly striking. Welcome to my kitchen and to my new blog! For the first post on Jenni’s Table I wanted to show you my home, seeing as we’ll be spending plenty of time in here. Funnily enough, this photo shoot happened by accident: I was preparing a quick, simple lunch to eat while planning (what was to be) our first post, but our photographer was busily snapping away all the while as I chopped and prepped. I hope this sets the tone for what is to come, namely that the most spontaneous and informal of events can be the most colourful and fun.
